I know almost nothing about Fieros, sorry. I know they can be hella fast and great handling if you tune them right.

Stock, not so good. But you can swap in a small-block Chevy or a Cadillac Northstar V8 without a whole lot of muss or fuss, and then it'll go like greased owl shit.

I have heard putting in a holden V6 the new ones these go like the powers of piss. But getting mod plates over here now is hard and you do need them.

This is true. You fellows down under have some decent V6s to work with... and I guess in the states, a blown GM 3800, like a Grand National motor, or a 3.8L supercharged Ford V6 would be a good candidate.
