I'll chime in with my usual use for cheap disposable cars.
Get a race seat, race harness, throw all the unnecessary shit out and rally/track them. It's a good idea to get some better rubber and at least aftermarket shocks, but this alone can exceed the price of the car. And race seat and harness can be removed and installed in another car or sold without too much loss of value (if you buy them used like I did).
