Almost every hardcore NASCAR fan who is internet savvy knows about his website...
http://Jayski.ThatsRacin.com
Best place for rumors and breaking news in the world of NASCAR.

#2, Hah...he's more of a enthusiastic journalist than a hardcore fanatic...but I find it funny that he's so famous in the NASCAR world and operates an incredibly popular site, yet he drives a 15+ year old car that he sometimes complains about on his site...

I DO like his car though...

Best part is you can pick these up for next to nothing any more. Next to the MN12, these are my favorite T-bird.

Well, Jayski is apparently selling this car...
"FOR SALE - Best Offer [over $350]
Proceeds to the Victory Junction Gang Camp
Jayski Computer Lab
264,000 miles, new tires, AC works great, rusting in areas, heater and brakes good, lights all work
Never failed inspection [yearly], radio works, CD player doesn't."

Figures that he would drive a car used in NASCAR, though.

#8, Yeah, he got his hosting switched from ThatsRacin.com to ESPN, so now it's simply http://www.Jayski.com

#10, I'm actually rather impressed that ESPN has maintained a relatively hands-off approach to Jayski... the guy still runs it and updates it like he always has... the only difference now the site loads flawlessly, and ESPN's Nascar coverage periodically has a "Jayski's Silly Season" news update segment...

#11, Well, nuts to that... ESPN just abruptly ceased all operations of Jayski.com, letting go of the entire staff. Jay himself sounds like he's just going to completely step away from covering Nascar news... he sounds rather disheartened.

[edit] this is a big deal because... there's NO alternative. When commentators and journalists would delve into the rumor mill? They'd cite Jayski. Always. There's no one else in the game... coverage of the Nascar rumor mill will have to be built up from scratch.

#12, Selling out is always a detriment to the medium that sells out. The parent company universally sees the acquired medium as a cash grab, then drains it dry when their readership doesn't care much for the ensuing lack of passion that the medium starts to exude.

I've seen this happen time and time again. Websites, online games, independent music. Hell, even the originator of Slenderman single-handedly destroyed the collective mythos the internet had built up by copyrighting the character and letting Sony make that shitty movie out of him.
