Description:
Due out in the fall, "Flatout" is a racing game for PC and PS that will feature deformable cars with body panels that crunch, flyoff or react with "ragdol" physics to movement, as well as totaly destructable track obstacles and environments and a slew of customizable muscle car knock-offs
THink of it as carmageddon meets NASCAR racing meets a 70's car chase movie |

I like this... alot... I always hated the indestructable cars in the GTA series... you could win races by just bashing and crashing into the walls |

From the trailer, it looks like they've nailed the car physics dead-on, if you've ever watched those SODA off-road races on ESPN, the cars behave EXACTLY like that |

The demo is out, and I'll give it a mixed review, the graphics are beautfil, the sensation of speed believeable, the damage is realistic-looking, even if it doesn't affect your handling, and the AI is the perfect mix, not so hard that you can't win if you make a single mistake, but no so stupid that they can't make a lap themselves without wrecking
My only complaint is car-to-car collision physics are toned down, car-to-environment collision is spot-on, you hit a wall, you'll bounce off it, or if it's a metal barrier, you may get hung up on it and have to tear off a fender to get loose, but no matter how hard you slam the other guy in the quarterpanel, you can't PIT him, which is a let down, though, considering they can't do it to you either maybe not so bad |

#8, The ads and video promos made it seem like you would be albe to do that, you can still smash into a guy, and push him off the road, but it takes a LOT of effort, I'd like it a lot more if you could do more car-to-car slamming and spinning, like a demo derby |

Sorta reminds me of Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. I've had a lot of fun with that one, although the gameplay is *slightly* limited and the damage modeling isn't quite as good as this. |

#11, What cracks me up is that you cannot dent the roof around driver's head. And no rollcage in sight... |
