I managed to get all four wheels and two good front tires for $200, so I said, "hey, why not?" Of course, now I've got '99 Cobra wheels on a V6, but who cares. :p |

Oh, those are 245/45 ZR17s on the front and 275/40 ZR17s on the back. Same widths (less height, obviously) as a stock C5 'Vette setup, if I recall correctly. :p |

#4, Yeah, stock cosmetic package that included a GT-style hood scoop and vinyl inlaid lettering on the rear bumper, lowering, and dual exhaust (although that is hidden as well as possible). Also, one of the most annoying exhaust notes ever. :D

#4, I see nothing ricey about any of it. I could do with the "My Little Ponies", but the lip and the new wheels look great. Bullitt or Mach 1 wheels also would look good on it. |

#6, I'm only leaving the "stampede" stickers on the sides of the car because they scream "HAY GUYS I'M A V6" :-P
I would probably have done the Bullitt-style wheels on this, but as far as I know those are 17x8s and I really wanted 17x9 rears (and the price was too good to refuse).

#9, One of the members of MMJAX (a north Florida Mustang club) apparently had recently bought the '03 wheels for his '99 Cobra, and he posted a thread in their message board's "for sale" forum. I was the first person to make an even remotely plausible offer. They're used, yes, but they're in good shape except for some very minor curb rash on the edge of one of the rears.
Since he seemed willing to take that much, I just went ahead and got them, because this way I managed to get significantly wider wheels/tires for about half of what it would have cost me to buy new ones; leaving more money to spend on a decent rear suspension setup in the future. :p

The real trick was actually driving around with the wheels in the car. Not enough room in the trunk, so I had to fold the back seat down. :( Not nearly as bad as the time when I drove around with a complete catback IN the other car--it went all the way from the front passenger's seat all the way back to the end of the trunk... |

#10, , #11, :-P!!!
#12, hey, no shame in used wheels. I still got some junkyard turbo wheels to put on my car. They are curb rashed, but they look straight and they were only $60 with some shitty tires.

#17, The only visible things that have been done since were the lip and the wheel/axle swap.
Of course, virtually all of the engine and driveline stuff has been done since then. :D |
