Description:
Daewoo Espero. 1.5, 1.8 or a 2 liter inline-4. Looks pretty sharp for a rejected Opel/Vauxhall Vectra 1st gen prototype, huh?

Rear, already on the hard shoulder >_< : http://users.raketnet.nl/maxss/espero/esilver/pic06.jpg
Actually they were decent cars. You could get gadgets like a/c, electric windows, powersteering, etc. And they were dirt cheap. Plus, I like the styling.

How interesting, funny how the Korean's are like the scavengers of the automotive world. I know they have been producing updated versions of other manufacturer's outdated models for decades, but this is the first I've ever heard of a rejected prototype going into production. It makes sense, though, I've read some companies spend BILLIONS developing prototypes to a production-ready state, only for a last-minute change in strategy demanding the axe. Which reminds me, where the hell is the Kia Elan? I'd buy one tomorrow.

#2, For my high school Auto Tech class, I had to write a research paper on something car-related... I wrote a ten-page paper on why Kia should bring the Kia Elan to America, I'm not joking. This was back in 1999, so I don't remember anything from the paper.

#3, It was known as Daewoo Nexia in Europe. It might have worked (a nice 1.6 dohc) but the quality of bodywork (crappy steel) meant that these were more dangerous than bikes in a crash >_<

I downloaded one of these once for laughs in Need For Speed High Stakes. Boring car to drive in the game but not too bad a looker in real life, surprisingly.

Come to think of it, the NFS Espero looks a lot like a modded and retextured Caprice o.o
