I got to play with a Japanese one about a month ago... truly impressive little doohicky. I'm glad I didn't get a DS like the rest of my friends at campus... half of them are already trading in their DSes to save up money for a PSP. I'm still truckin' along with my GBA SP ^_^

I picked one up yesterday morning. I'm truely impressed and I imagine that it has a lot of untapped potential. Definately hurts your wallet, though.

One thing that worries me will be the dead pixels that will develop through time, or the ones that some have already.

I like to play games, but I'll stick to consoles. If I cant play it on a big screen, then I'm not interested:p

I don't really get the obsession with portable gaming. Like talking on the phone, playing the Playstation is just something I can wait until I get home to do.

What's the big deal about these things?

Best idea for portable gaming was the Turbo Grafix 16 one since you didn't have to buy different games - the console games fit the portable unit too. So will PSP games work on the PS2 consoles or vice versa? Are the discs similar in size to the Gamecube?

I'm so out of touch with trendy stuff.

Oh and wtf is a DS?

#8, You mean the one from around 1989?
I still have mine, just replaced it with a thinner color version when the GB Color came out.
Which was not backlit though defeating the purpose of color IMO.

#9, The big deal, as I have come to realize from the multiple convos at work about these little things, is basically that they are the perfect road trip item. They can play movies, view pictures, listen to music, and play a game all in one. And its much cheaper than buying a portable dvd player, though you do need to transfer your movies to a memory stick, or get them in whatever umd is.

#10, Yes, as in the one from around 1989...The one that weighs more than a city bus and only has different shades of green for color XD
