#2, No, it's the cabrio. The roof slides on rails all the way down past the rear window.

#5, Enough that a local company imports them, federalizes them and sells them to rich people at $45,000 a piece. I don't know how many they have sold, but they've been around for a few years now. A guy in my neighborhood has a red one. And if you are worried about safety, these crash tested as well as the current gen S class!

#8, Dude, where have you been for the last 10 years? It's not electric, it has a rear-mounted 660cc turbocharged three with anything from 70 to 105 HP, a clutchless 5 speed manual and lots of airbags, stability control, abs, ebds etc. Made by Mercedes in conjunction with Swatch, who were bought out a few years ago. The body panels are changeable, too. I admit $45k is a bit much, but in Europe they go for under $15K with lots of options.

"Cabrios" aren't my specialty. 105 HP in that does sound pretty punchy. But with the accessories, probably not as light as we may think.

Sorry but... dont you think these things are like... gay? I dont use that adjective very often when talking about cars, but this is almost as bad a a New beetle convertible. I see these things every day and I am so convinced that I would rather walk that drive one of these.

#10, The cabrio is a recent addition, the coupes have been around for some time now. They do 0-60 in about 11 seconds, not bad for a car you can legally park nose to curb!

#11, I don't think they're gay. If it was green and pink and smelled like open ass inside, yea, it would be gay.
Its practical. MPG, parking, manuevering. These are things we least care about.

I just find it amazing that the relatively conservative V8+ loving Ricecop community can be so positive about a car like the Fortwo (which, by the way, doesnt sell too good since people percieve it as a half car with a full price).
