My next vehicle must fit these criteria.

Type of vehicle – Drop tops, sedans, etc. Trucks are ok so long as they are American.

Engine – No less than 5 cylinders, preferably 8 w/ no less than 220 hp. Exemptions include roadsters, Subaru, Lotus; and Mitsubishi products.

Drivetrain - RWD or 4WD (Preferably with a rear wheel torque bias).

Transmition – Manual

Price – $10K is the limit for buying, anything beyond that and I would have to check out leasing options. So basically I’m looking in the used category.

#2, I don't like a single one of them. That's pretty much all it boils down to.

Just wondering as, unless its different there, but here the American trucks are pretty much 1 in a million to be manual trans where as the Toyota's are much more common in manual. Has Dodge or Chevy even offered a manual trans in any of their trucks recently? I know Ford had a few around.

I like Dodge's new line up with Magnum and the Carger, but is a shame they don't offer anything but Auto in them.

#4, Good question, the only manuals I've seen are on compact trucks. I guess that narrows down the truck catagory.

#5, Much like me, if there is no manual trans offered, its something that will really drop my consideration of a vehicle. Its a shame that so many vehicles now do not offer any manuals anymore.

Personally, with your criteria in place, I would probably go a Mustang, Firedbird or if you could find one, a Merauder.

I saw a '98 BMW 525i in a used car lot around here for $13k, with some talking that price could drop to $11K. It was an automatic though.

#7, Nothing wrong with that plan. I don't know what I'll do when it somes time for me to get a new car. I want a wagon type vehicle or a 5 door, and a manual transmission. I swear every yeat it gets harder and harder to find any. At this point in time I think Mazda is one of the only ones offering what I am looking for.

#9, Volvo and Benz I belive have a few offerings. A 97 Volvo 850 turbo w/ manual will go for about $5k (they are very rare though), also consider the old BMW M coupe.
