#4, A cross between In Flames, Meshuggah, Strapping Young Lad and Dark Tranquility, but with unique melodies and violence. I adore it.

Can't stand Blind Guardian.
Its probably the nerdiest Metal I've ever heard.

Edit: The guy on the right looks like they sound.

#9, The FUCK are you on? o_O

You ever listen to their "Imaginations From The Other Side" album? Far from nerdy.
You ever hear the song "And Then There Was Silence"? A 14 minute long epic filled with actual choirs and opera-style orchestra.

This is far from the nerdiest Metal band ever. Yeah, they did some Tolkien songs, but they're not nerdy. Machiane Supremacy (an awesome band, mind you) are way nerdier. Hell, almost all their songs are aobut videogames, and they use a fucking SiD chip from a Commodore 64 (IIRC) in all their songs.

Awesome, I love Blind Guardian!
I have Battalions of Fear and Nightfall in Middle Earth. 2 of my favorite CD's.

#10, I've got 8 of their albums. Listened to each one of them. And I still say its the nerdiest metal I've ever heard.
"eah, they did some Tolkien songs, but they're not nerdy." -- That statement seems oxymoronic to me.

#13, Hmm...If this is the nerdiest metal band you've ever heard, then seriously, I recommend you listen to some Machinae Supremacy...you cannot get nerdier than a band that does songs about videogames and uses a SiD chip from a Commodore 64 in their songs...

And yes, I realize the Tolkien songs != nerdy statement was oxymoronic, sue me :P

#14, I some how don't think listening to nerdier metal will help bring my appreciation for Blind Guardian up any. But thanks for the warning against listening to Machinae Supremacy. Be good and sure to avoid them.
