I'll take the Elise, and maybe the nine two eight.

kinda random: Are cars with numbers, ie Porsche's 928 pronounced nine two eight, or 928?

#21, I don't think there's a set way to say it. I pronounce it "Nine Twenty Eight."

Here's some Porschephiles debating on it: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforu...enty-eight.html

I almost always pronounce the late two digits as a single number in Porsche model names....the exceptions to this are the "nine nines," such as 993, 996, and 997, for which I always pronounce every individual number.

For some reason, for 959 I go either way. Sometimes I say "Nine fifty-nine" and sometimes I say "Nine five nine."

"nine twenty-eight" and "Nine Forty-Four"

Once I learned the snobs don't like it that way, I was determined to NEVER change :)

I think the only models where I pronounce the last two digits as a single number are the Nine-eleven and Nine-thirty.

#30, On that note, is there ANYONE out there who calls it a Ford F one five zero? as opposed to F one-fiddy'

Most numeric or alphanumeric model names I do the same way.

For example, Skyline GT-Rs to me are the "Arr thirty-two," the "Arr thirty-three," and the "Arr thirty-four." BMWs are the "E thirty," "E twenty-eight," "E thirty-six," and so on.

The only exception I can think of off the top of my head is the Toyota AE-85 and AE-86, which I pronounce as "eight five" and "eight six."

#32, Ok, yeah, alphanumeric codes with more than 1 number usually get the "double-digit name" treatment from me, too... but if it's 3 numbers in a row, I tend to just pronounce each individual number... but then 4-numbers in a row are different altogether, too... Pontiac Six-thousand, Chevy K-fifteen-hundred...

Now that I think about it, I do call the Mazda 626 (and any remaining 323's I might see) a "Six-two-six" and "Three-two-three"

But, BMW's don't get the same treatment, a 325xi to me is a "Three Twenty-Five"

#34, I do the same with Mazda cars...."six two six," "three two three," "nine two nine," etc.
