Description:
Well, there's now a Honda in the family.

My sister, in her search for a 2 or 3 year old Toyota Camry, found out that Toyota dealers are asses (...and non-Toyota dealers selling used Toyotas are equally as bad). She went to a Honda dealership as a last resort, and the salesman made her a wonderful deal on a BRAND NEW 2005 Accord. She's leasing it with VERY low payments.

Now that her Accord has 190k miles on it, she's considering getting a new car... and when I say "new car", I mean, "new Honda"... as MxCx so eloquently put it, she's part of the cult now... she adores Honda as a brand.

...I think she wants something with more room for lugging things around... she'll probably be considering a CR-V, or maybe even something as big as a Pilot... maybe an Odyssey... who knows. But it will definitely have a big, square [H] badge on the front.

#22, Most likely new. She's a clinical pharmacist working shitloads of overtime... I know she makes close to six-figures...

Well, most likely good-bye to this car now... sister got into a collision... she's fine, but the Accord looks trashed... the radiator was punched in against the engine, the whole front end bodywork is totally shot... not sure if the front suspension survived unscathed... considering the condition and super high miles on the car already, I suspect the insurance company may decide to "total" it...

#24, glad to know that your sister is fine. :) That's all that counts honestly--especially after yesterday's incident. :(

This may finally be the impetus for her to get a new car. She's currently borrowing my mom's Suzuki for the time being... my mom doesn't drive much anymore, anyway.

#27, My mom still needs the car ever so often...

My sister's been looking at the CR-V and new Accord... giving her a ride home in my car after picking her up from the site of the collision, she kinda noted how much she liked my car... so I suggested she look at the Fit, which she's never considered before. I think she'll be pleasantly surprised.

#28, :D Awesome. :)

Does that auto really sap the mileage out of those, though?

#30, I would think getting a bigger vehicle with decent mileage would be a better tradeoff than getting a small car with an auto that gets the same mileage.

Certified used straight from a Honda dealer with 100,000 mile warranty (currently has ~35,000) for $2k under book value.

I, personally, HATE the styling on these things, but that's the only problem... and it's only a problem for me. My sister really likes the way it looks.

My friend's parents bought a silver '99 CR-V for his sister after she successfully killed her purple '97 Sebring JX convertible. Then they went out and bought an identical '00 model for themselves. The only differences are the spare tire cover, some stickers and the license plates. When she came home from college for the first time after they bought the '00, they pranked her by swapping the two cars in the driveway so her key wouldn't work when she went to leave. :P
