Sheetz is the 800 pound Gorilla of branded convenience here, there is literally no 2nd or 3rd place option, what with Uni-mart being whittled down to almost nothing. THe closest you could come is Martins, they're a 4 or 5 county operation that does rural chained gas stores (they brand themselves as a "general store" even though they're pretty much a c-store and aren't that bad actually) when Uni-mart bombed, they bought up all their dead rural locations and re-branded them, seem to be doing pretty well for themselves.
East of here, you'll get into Wawa territory around Lancaster/Reading/Philly, and to the west, nearing Pittsburgh, you'll find GetGo, and maybe a 7-11 |

On a non-convenience store note (an inconvenient note?) there used to be a Shoney's in town here, and as far as I can tell, it was the high-water mark for that particular chain that was mostly southern. I worked there for two years, it was my first job. It vanished around 1998, and the building is now a bank. |

I used to like Shoney's. We had one here, but around that same time it turned into a Ponderosa Steak House, then it closed down again. It's still empty now. |

#25, There was a Ponderosa 2 blocks down from Shoney's, it closed in the early 00's and has since been dug up (along with the next-door trailerpark) for a strip mall that resulted in Little Caesar's returning to town after a 10 year hiatus.... I never understood that, it's a college town! If you can't sell pizzas here, you're REALLY not doing something right.... |

Ehh...I like Little Caesar's. I prefer them to Pizza Hut or Papa John's, but I don't like 'em as much as Dominoes. |

I kinda like Sbarro, too, though I prefer their stromboli to their pizza. |

We used to have a bunch of Little Caesars here, then they all closed but they've come back again. |

We also briefly had a Boston Market and a Kenny Rogers Roasters, which quickly flamed out along with their parent companies. Both buildings are still around but house different Mom n' Pop operations now, a Chinese Buffet and a greasy spoon all-night place.
There isn't a national pizza chain here that we don't have, along with dozens of local shops. One of which I won't do business with, not because the pizza sucks, but if they find out who I work for, they'll probably spike the pie with God-knows-what... They've outgrown their building but refuse to move to a bigger location, so they've tried to use the building next door for their delivery drivers to park at.... guess who tows them out all the time? And they keep using the same excuse "We're out of room!" Well, you can't take this guy's spot, YOU DON'T OWN IT! You aren't allowed to annex stuff you want arbitrarily... there's signs and everything, I don't see why you guys don't get this..... |

I also like going to
y:M V
MS
Got good old Sega games and pickles there. If he just turn the corner, he'll be there. I just don't like the way they have their signs so bright. |
