They really tried hard with this one. I think it's interesting how the "performance" packages sweated the smaller details since the carmakers often couldn't get any more performance out of the smogger engines and keep the cars emissions legal. A lot of detail was put into stuff like the feel of the steering wheel, making gas caps external instead of behind a fuel door, strategically blacking out certain pieces of trim, etc. Today performance packages are typically the opposite....faster, but with little more visceral value than the car's cheaper stablemates.
