#1, mentioning the airliner thrust lever reminded me of the Hummer H2 shifter.. that thing is MASSIVE

It was like this one, but it had some sort of factory wire wheels on it (it probably wasn't a Trofeo) and was considerably more faded and beaterish. When it coasted, it sounded like a tin can rattling, and the back end of the car perpetually sagged.

This reminds me of the loading dock of the old Service Merchandise at the Swansea Mall, a magical place inhabited by hobos and neer-do-wells.
