This car was so close to production it's not even funny.
I think that there are three of these left.

Somebody right now is working on producing a series of fiberglass replica kit cars, which are already set up for AMC V8s. They're supposed to have a full tube frame, 2 seater capacity, and will use SDR 5 speed transaxles.
And now with Indy offering alluminum AMC crate engines, the idea is getting even more appealing. Bolt in a 407 ci AMC Street Master (based on the 401) and have 500 hp @ 6300 RPM and 480 ft lbs. of torque @ 4500 RPM.
