One good thing cams, if you can spot a flat-white Crown VIctoria at 50 yards, you will NEVER get a speeding ticket in the states!!!!

Same deal over here. If you can pick commodores or falcons. They just look different. However in Victoria (state of australia) the cops have different number plates. Different colour same letters on everyone. They can be seen miles off.

Why is it that important that the copcars are RWD?

Well, unlike in most of Europe, (I say most so it isn't a generalization) America has a LOT of big, wide highways, where RWD is need for certain high speed maneuvers and to do the PIT maneuver. FWD cars can't perform the PIT maneuver as safely as RWD cars.

A modern big European FWD would kick ass compared to those old clumsy copcars.

Don't get me wrong I really like RWD cars.

Anybody ever seen Drowing Mona? All the townspeople in that drove Yugos, and for some reason, all the cop cars were Dodge Omnis / Plymouth Horizons. It was funny as hell.

They won't seem so clumsy when they PIT you at 100 mph and send you spinning out of control...

Well, Mr. Hawk, that's why Departments have the pursuit Camaros and 'Vettes. Also, don't underestimate the Police Package Crown Victorias. I've seen police videos of those things keeping up with big Mercedes and even a BMW M sedan.

It's where the cops pull up so that their front bumper is right next to your rear bumper, then they steer into your car while flooring the accelerator, it works almost all of the time, sending the other car spinning out of control, and it usually disables the other car. Other than spike-strips, it's the fastest way to end a chase.

PIT stands for Pursuit Intervention Technique. It's when they position themselves right on your rear quarter, then tap you and either flip your car or send it into a spin. It's very effective when there aren't too many civilians around (it usually causes the perp's car to go all over the place).

the Camaro cop cars in the state of GA are capable of 160+ MPH try to keep the speed you would need to actually out run one of those in Atlanta Traffic... if you can do that you are possibly the best driver on Earth!
