Description:
The only picture I have of my father's 1932 Oldsmobile. As you can see, she's a mess.

I took this picture in the late '90s... when he had it stored in a tent-style garage... before he built his additional 6-car garage next to his house.

I just found this photo at the bottom of one of my drawers earlier today.

Hasn't run since the late '70s... and it's highly probable it started its life out as a taxi that was beaten to hell.

Though, the body is pretty solid... only surface rust. It has all six wooden wheels intact, and all the glass is pretty good, rolls down fine even.

This car was the "Patrician" model... it has a hood longer than the Chevrolets of the time since it was built to accomodate a straight-8, though, my father's only has the base straight-6.

#6, Well, since I haven't talked with him since February 2003, this list may have changed, but here's what he had last time I checked:

-1932 Oldsmobile
-1957 DeSoto Fireflite
-1972(73?) BMW R60/5
-1981 Corvette
-1997 Chrysler LHS
-1998 Harley-Davidson Superglide
-2001 Volkswagen Cabrio

*The '94 Cavalier wagon was given to my step-mom after they separated shortly after my leaving. ...from what I hear, my step-mom got into a really bad crash with it, totalled it, and my dad bought her a new car.
**I have no fucking clue what my dad did with the 2002 Honda Rebel. No. Fucking. Clue.

Slightly better picture, Harley and Beemer are visible too. http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/things_in_a_garage.jpg

...as far as other vehicles are concerned...

The Cavalier wagon was totalled by the insurance company, but my dad actually bought it back since the damage wasn't that bad, apparently. After sitting in the driveway for YEARS, they finally sold it to a guy that specialized in '90s Cavvys.

My Rebel is still in the garage, parked at the front of the Olds. It hasn't been touched since '04 or so... in serious need of maintenance service, but otherwise fine. http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/rebel.jpg

#10, Alright, now that my dad has bought himself a winter home here in Satellite Beach, he needs some transportation...

He's going to ship down the blue '01 Cabrio seen in the previous post (my dad loves convertibles, and to be in Florida without one would be inconceivable) and possibly also the '97 LHS (since it's just taking up space in PA anyway... plus it has a sunroof)

But that still leaves him with a problem for Pennsylvania... like I said, he loves convertibles. His solution? Well, he just bought himself a new car on eBay... currently waiting for it to be shipped from New York...
http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/newcabrio.jpg
(It's an '02, with only 18,000 miles on it [his blue '01 has 50,000 miles on the clock], and it's also the GLX, with alloys and leather interior)

#11, Well, crap.. turns out the eBay auction only had images of the driver's side of the car, because the seller was trying to hide the fact that there are scrapes and paint-transfer all over the passenger side of the car (as if someone had misjudged the side of a garage door)... my dad is rather... perturbed.

#11, So, my father needs a second car for Florida (he likes having a convertible, but would also like a big, family-style vehicle for carrying large objects, and maybe us kids if we go sightseeing with him ever so often)

...he's a creature of habit. He loved his VW Cabrio, and decided he needed one in Florida *and* Pennsylvania... and he loves his '07 Pacifica (seen in comment 10), so, guess what?
http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/pacifica.jpg
It's an '06 with extremely low miles... yes, he bought it used in PA specifically to ship down to Florida, because he couldn't find a used Pacifica in as good condition in Florida for around the same price... (he'd have to pay an extra $3000 or so to get as nice a one in FL)

So I'll have to have another day killed to be at his new place down here to "receive" yet another car :P

Ok, well... my dad no longer has the Oldsmobile... his girlfriend's son expressed interest in restoring it, and my dad's viewpoint now is, "The only way I'm ever going to ride in that Oldsmobile before I die, is if someone else takes the time to restore it."

I think he need the space in the garage, anyway.
