#1, I wonder how they handle in slippery conditions. I imagine there's a bit of understeer on corner entry and later oversteer if you let the gas alone. I'd try to drive through most of the corner on opened throttle (not opened all the way of course) to keep the heavy rear planted. I imagine they are easy to control as long as you remember not to let them slide too much, if you do you won't be able to catch the rear as it carries a big momentum. But I'm not an expert as far as MR cars go ;) |

#3, Well, they are actually very neutral, no understeer at all really. To get the rear mobile I enter a corner with an exaggerated yoink move on the wheel, perhaps only a few degrees of lock... this gets the rear sliding on whatever angle you like depending on how much you yoink the wheel, after that you steer through the corner with the wheel almost straight and steering on the throttle. It's all very safe and doesn't ever feel like it will bite and spin, but then again once I commit I never make abrupt throttle closures.
#4 ah yes, that'd be lovely. |

oh yeah, it only really understeers if you enter a corner with too much speed, but this can be rectified with trail braking or the aboive mentioned style which drives around the limit and thus avoids the understeer. But at anything up to 9/10ths and over you get absolute neutrality, awesome turn in, great body control, decent ride, detailed steering feedback... it's bliss. |

#9, Oh yeah, thought that's what you meant. I need to do a cross country road trip soon, taking all back roads. |

#10, That sounds like fun. I want to repeat my trip out west taking Hwy 2 as far as I can to Seattle, and going down Hwy 1. :) |

#9, I imagine the MR2 is the size of a Renault 5 and, man, I do feel strange in heavy traffic... and we don't have gargantuan SUV's around here. |

#12, You get used to it... they are built like tanks anyway, just the opposite of how they feel. The doors, for example, must weigh 75 pounds a piece and shut with a big "THUNK!" Sagging hinges is a common problem. I've seen cars in bad wrecks with the passenger shell very nicely intact. Besides, I'm in the "best way to survive an accident is to avoid it in the first place" camp, easy when you scan your mirrors, drive carefully and have an agile chassis. |

#13, Uh, accidents are accidents because they are accidental. How does it feel to have a Tahoe/H2 bumper in your rearview? I'd get stressed out. |

#14, I drive a Ram, and even I get stressed out when I see other cars too close to me. Honestly, I have been in a traffic jam sitting still and winced a couple times because the cockbag behind didnt bother to slow down until I tapped my brakes at him. >_< |

#14, yeah, but I think most accidents are caused by inattentive drivers, following too close, driving beyond a vehicles limits or just making bad decisions, at least all of the accidents I've witnessed or been in. It's scary, and they usually already hate me for my "remember Iran Contra" sticker, I just try to get out of their way or drive faster than them.
