Heh, I didn't figure Hammond to be so wealthy, well, until I googled his name and learned more about him.

#1, He co-hosts one of the most popular automotive TV shows in the English-speaking world, it makes sense to me that he can afford a 911. He has a vintage Ferrari too. Dunno about his other stuff.

Although May apparently makes a fraction of what Hamster and Clarkson do.

#2, I never really knew Top Gear existed until around a year ago, due to not having good cable I honestly didn't know the show was even around. I was famliar with Hammond from Brainiac.

#3, From what I've seen, he doesn't get the amount of face time they do.

Well, there was also the fact that nobody I knew ever talked about it and the fact that I haven't watched a show on TLC or BBC in my own home in years. And the fact that Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson aren't exactly household names in my neck of the woods.

#7, I've never seen Top Gear outside of YouTube and clips I've gotten from my British friend through MSN.

#8, I was watching TV at my friends house about a year or so ago and I just happened upon it, I enjoyed it and watched some episodes on youtube but I haven't followed this show anywhere near to extent some of my fellow RON members have.

Top Gear is the only thing holding the BBC up at the moment

#11, Yeah... Doctor Who has become an absolute worldwide phenomenon/juggernaut... I only ever watched the first series of the reboot with Ecclestone... and maybe one or two episodes with Tennant.

It's to be seen how the "new" New Top Gear will fare... there are rumors that Evans is trying to take total and complete control of the show, in a bad way... I always got kind of a "hipster douche" vibe from him, and that appears to have been a correct vibe. The only saving grace, in my mind, is Sabine Schmitz' presence.

All I know is, I'll be eagerly awaiting the new Amazon Prime show from W. Chump & Sons Ltd.
