Seems that high-dollar hot rod builders don't like chrome anymore. Sad, because the satin finish on the bumpers and trim looks like shit. Those rims look like Wal-Mart hubcaps designed to resemble old VW/Porsche wheels and rattle-canned satin silver.

I like the build, the combination of a 500 horse Vette mill, 9-inch rear and upgraded suspension while leaving the body and interior mostly original is pretty damn cool imho. I don't like the wheels though, they're about an inch too large and the style does not do a damn thing for me, I was suprised to learn they used Budnik brand wheels because I know for a fact that that manufacturer has dozens of wheel sets that look ten times better than those Muroc 3's. And to touch on the article's subject of car customization I believe there's no way to justify cutting up a cherry vintage car and turning it into your own chrome laden 1000 horse dayglo orange trailer queen and people who do are just lazy douchebags with too much money. Modernizing a car is one thing, but to take away what made a car cool in the first place and replace it with whatever pop culture deams as cool is severly lame.
