On June 11, 1963, Thich Quang Duc, a Vietnamese Mahayana Buddhist monk, was riding in this car as part of a procession protesting the persecution of Buddhism by South Vietnam's administration. At one point in the procession, Thich got out of the car, sat down the road, and stood perfectly still reciting prayers while an accomplice doused with with a can of gasoline (siphoned from this car) and set him ablaze.
This was the first publicized act of Buddhist self-immolation, and was the subject of the following award-winning photograph (note this car is in the background): http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/burni...ichquangduc.jpg
Today the car is regarded as a holy relic, and is on display at Hu's Thien Mu Pagoda.
Edited since R.O.N. apparently doesn't like Vietnamese characters.

Holy crap, I imagine someone would pay a good bundle for that.
Reminds me of a Hudson Jet or Nash with some Packard mixed in.
