Description:
Detroit Train Station

The perfect contrast to the success the automobile industry brought the city. The beaux arts neoclassical building, once a sprawling center of commerce, has stood abandoned for over two decades and has been ravaged by thieves, vandals and time. Today it stands as not much more than a towering husk of its former self.

Page won't load - and I'm interested!

Shame such a nice building is going to waste.

#2, There's been talk of renovating it for years now, it was going to be the new police station for a while, then they were talking about turning it into a Casino, both plans never solidified though. The fellow who owns it also owns the Ambassador bridge, and he's recently barred people from entering it due to concerns over structural integrity. It's really a sight to behold, in fact Micheal Bay shot parts of The Island and Transformers there. I don't believe there are any plans to renovate the building in the near future, since such a task could cost about 100-300 million dollars.

#5, It was built about 10 years after Ford was founded, so there was probably about 8 cars puttering around by then

Now owned by Ford Motor Company, which is currently in the process of renovating the building for engineering offices.
