Description:
"Let's say you've got a current generation Ford Mustang GT that doesn't get you excited any more and a couple grand taking up space under your mattress. Roush Performance can solve both of your problems with the addition of a new supercharger dubbed the TVS2300 ROUSHcharger. For around $5000, Roush will provide you a kit of parts which, when properly assembled and tuned, develop more than 700 HP."

the idea of a 20K used GT and and a 5K kit for 700 HP makes life worth living.

#3, I really doubt that the blower kit was designed for that boost level on the factory bottom end. It sure wasn't intended to live long that way. 450-500 RWHP on the stock internals would make a lot more sense.

Democratizing sub-four second 0-60 times.

Makes a GT500 look like a goddamn ripoff.

#6, The fact that the GT500 is a ripoff would have something to do with that.

#5, Well, let's say you spend another 5K beefing up the bottom end, that's still a hell of a deal no matter how you slice it.

#8, Maybe, but it's going to be good for only one thing after all that.

Well, two, if you count making massive amounts of tire smoke in addition to breaking drivetrain parts.

No, I'm a pragmatist. I've been down this road twice already. :p

edit: Although I've stayed away from insane-horsepower street cars so far, because I think they're kind of useless.

#12, pragmatism is for politicians and intelligent people. You clearly aren't either or you wouldn't be into cars.

Interesting hard-sell tactic you've got there. :p

I just have a more holistic approach. 700 hp will get you up to speed pretty quickly, but it's going to be messy as hell with the stock suspension, you're not going to be able to stop very well, and you're dead if you screw up. Heck, I've kept the engine in my Slowbra stock so far because I already know how intimidating even ~10 lb/hp can be on a road course. :D

#14, I hear you, I hear you. You are, after all, speaking with the official RoN Anti-Viper Pro NSX fan club president.

I used to be so anti-NSX, but dammit, after seeing a number of them in person, and hearing them run... mmmmm... that'sa nice car!

But I'm still pro-Viper. I'm sorry, but the ludicrously simple but brutal engineering and overpowered engine I have to love.

#16, My only real criticism of the NSX is that I've heard a few with, shall we say, rice mode exhaust, and the sound is awful on an unfathomable scale.

#17, Stick fartpipes on a Camaro or Porsche 911 and it will sound like shit too. From what I can gather, you're more against the type of people that would drive an NSX, rather than the car itself.

#19, Ah. The same reason I hate BMWs and Hondas. They're fine cars (some of them are downright awesome and brilliant), but they tend to be operated by massive douchenozzles.

I'd say I hate Priuses because of most of the owners, but that's a case where a simply hate the car itself, too.
