Now this car has the power to back up the big wing. This car was also capable of hitting 200 mph.

Well, there's also these cars:
Ferrari F40 & F50, Lambos, Porsche 911 Turbos and 959, and of course this car's cousin, the Superbird.
So, as this may not be the ONLY cool car with a wing, it definitely is THE coolest one.

Well, Superbirds and Daytonas didn't exactly look good, but they were ugly for a reason. What's pathetic is watching ricers put this kind of stuff on their cars and call it "cosmetic". Mopar rocks...

I never said the Daytona was good looking. I said it was the coolest car with a wing. I'm taking into account it's performance in my cool factoring.

Oh, no. I'm not saying you did say it was good looking. I was just giving my opinion on the car.

Bow down, riceboys. God bless Mopar for having the balls to build this. Fast, beautiful, functional, and it drove Richard Petty into a Torino Talladega because the Roadrunner had no chance against it.

Superbirds weren't that much slower?

No, the Superbird didn't come out until 1970. At the time, Plymouth's NASCAR ride was the standard Roadrunner (i.e. no wing, no nosecone.) The Daytona was a '69 car, the Superbird was a '70 model. I'm pretty sure this info is all right.

Richard Petty NEVER drove a Torino Talledega. He drove a Ford in the mid-60s, yes, but he went BACK to Mopar after they started putting balls back in their Nascar racecars. The Talledega was JUST like the "winged warriors" in that it was a one year only aerodynamic special.

DiRF, please refer to car #836. I may have been wrong about the Talladega part, but he DID drive a Torino Cobra in '69.

Ok, so he drove a Torino Cobra. NOT a Talledega. He went back to Mopar AFTER they introduced the "winged warriors". Those cars DIDN'T drive Petty away, they drew him back in, k?

Okay, I looked this one up... Before the 1969 season, Dodge introduced the Charger 500 (a Charger with a flush rear window and a Coronet grille.) To retaliate, FoMoCo put out the Torino Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler, which were aerodynamically superior to the Charger 500 and the Plymouth Roadrunner. Dodge built the Charger Daytona to regain the advantage, but Plymouth was stuck with the standard Roadrunner, which was slower than the Dodges, the Fords and the Mercs. Richard Petty tried to get Mopar to let him switch from the Plymouth to the Dodge, but they wouldn't, so he went over to the Torino for the rest of the season. However, Plymouth introduced the Superbird in 1970, putting it back on an equal footing with the other manufacturers, so Petty went back to Plymouth. So, in a sense, the wing cars both drove Petty away and lured him back.

See?! You were wrong in saying that the "winged warriors" drove Petty away. I didn't know about Petty's Talledega, sorry. But still, don't say the Daytona/Superbird had worse performance than the Talledega, because, from every single TV show, article, and website I have ever found, they say the Mopar "winged warriors" were far superior to the Talledega.

Yep. The Mopar wing cars were superior in performance to the Talladega and the Cyclone Spoiler. Apparently not drastically superior, though, because David Pearson won the '69 championship in a Talladega. As always, the driver mattered more than the car, but the Mopars did have an edge.
