Poor Cruze. :(
I do think it's funny, though, how only two laps in practically everyone in the race is either crashing, having mechanical problems, or is on fire.

#1, WTCC FTW, yo.
BTW Pau is a real legend, racing in the town started in 1920s and IIRC the first race named a 'Grand Prix' passed through the town. That was back in 1902 I think. One of the most difficult parts of the circuit is where the black Seat retired, there's a fast left-right combination that dumps the cars straight into a shicane. The shicane is pretty much blind, being hidden by a drop in the circuit and it's sorrounded by kerbs, also the braking zone is actually IN the fast right hander. August Farfus rolled his BMW there in 2007.

#4, It appears the BMW struck just ahead of the door hinges, which could explain why the door popped. |

#6, Yep. It was a glancing collision, due to the expert evasive maneuvers of Franz Engstler in the BMW, but it was still a VERY hard collision. If the BMW had been about two feet further to its right, both vehicles probably likely would've had to have been flatbedded off the track. |

That was one hell of a first lap. I'm surprised nobody got killed. Imola 1994 flashed before my eyes when all the carnage unfolded. |
