So here's what we're going to do, take an otherwise cool car and see just how ugly we can make it. To start with I have a bucket of grasshopper green we can paint the car.

The Edsel may be kinda cool... but, let's be honest about this...

It was ugly. It was expensive. It wasn't built right.

It *is*, in this day and age, a rare car, reasonably quirky, and relatively interesting. Its history of being a prominent, massive failure is the main thing that makes it collectible...

Now, I would not be averse to a custom Edsel, if it were tasteful. Said collectible-status of the Edsel provides for there being a not-insubstantial number out there that have been saved, cherished, even some that have been beautifully restored... and that means that it's ok for a few Edsel owners out there to have fun with their vehicles...

...this, however, is not tasteful. Even if it were a common classic, like a '57 Chevy that this was done to, I would still hate it.

#4, Most people would think doing this to a '57 Chevy is heresy. Look at the prices of clean '57 Chevys versus a clean '58 Edsel. The value just isn't there with Edsels so I guess certain people thought this kind of thing was okay.

I hereby join the ranks of those who think people who do this really suck.

#4, I don't have a problem with a custom Edsel, provided the custom work is well done and the car wasn't too nice when the work started. Same with any vintage car, really.

I have no idea about the second requirement, but this car definitely doesn't meet the first.
