Frankly, it still boggles my mind that someone in Europe would have bought a FWD American sedan in the '80s and '90s... I mean, seriously, where's the benefit over an equivalent European or Japanese sedan of the era that were far more readily available for purchase?

#4, Stands out, I suppose. The same reason I bought a Peugeot back in the day.

#5, Stand out my foot, Peugeots were simply fantastically-engineered cars... now, I'm biased as my father and his dad both owned a smattering of Peugeots in the '60s and '70s.

My point being, not only were American FWD sedans of the '80s and '90s far more difficult to acquire (and, presumably, to service) in Europe at the time, they were, honestly, mostly terrible cars in comparison.

Having said that, I'll now be looking over my shoulder to make sure I'm not being pursued by a 6000STE from the Bay Area.

Corsicas were sold new in select countries in Europe.

#6, Mine would have to be in running condition before I could chase you.
This isn't an episode of Riptide.

#6, Well, one difference in a GM product of this time period and a Peugeot is reliability. I was impressed by my 505's construction, but not so much its drivetrain. For GM, meanwhile, this was the era of the Buick 3.8, simply one of the best all-around engines ever built.
