I need help, 'cause I'm in the middle of a moral dilemma here.

There's a white, older model Honda Accord down the road from me for sale for $1500, and it looks decent. Since I know the guy, I could probably walk away with it for $1200 (I've bought from him before). The car looks fairly good, but needs little things here and there.

My idea is, since there is money is rice, to rice up the car and sell it for a major profit. But there is a question of ethics here. I would hate to betray any car by ricing it, and I'd hate to be seen anywhere near it. So I have one of three options open to me:

1. Just forget about it and move on.
2. Build it fairly nice, but I might not make as much money off it.
3. Build it ugly and make money off of a stupid person.

What should I do?

I say rice it. I've been tempted to build an import to a sort of sleeper itude. ie, fully uglified and riced, but faster than all hell. No one would expect it!

Ricers expect ricey looking cars to be fast, though. If you want a sleeper, build a stock-looking Honda or something.

I've often wondered if a Toyota Paseo with MR2 running gear would work? The MR2 is mid-engined, so I wonder would their transaxle adapt to the Paseo/Tercels FrontWD frame?

I ain't gonna race ricers... They're all like 18 and have no money. I'm talking about racing the older guys that have domestics. At the track, of course.

Everyone "races" ricers CRX, I swear, half the time I just pull away from a light, there is some idiot in a Honda thinking I want to race him. I'll be honest with you, the only "race" I ever really and truly got into was a loss, and looking back, pretty stupid too

I mean meeting all these domestic guys at the strip and whipping the tar out of them with a rice rocket. Could be done. I'm thinking Lancer Evo drivetrain in something lame like a '92 Accord.

Yeah, but the only problem is you might turn them into ricers.

not saying I'd win everything, but I'm sure with a proper buildup I could beat quite a few of them. Be interesting to see the look on their faces.

Another buildup that would be sweet:
Supercharged BB into the truck, and in goes the AWD system from the Sierra Denali. With proper reinforcement, and careful tuning, about 1200-1300 hp should be drivable and run 10s or so.

Yeah, but don't rice it, just keep it stock. Maybe with some oxidized gold paint, some primer black spots, purple tinted windows (really bad tint job), and some cheapo 17 inch wheels.

then there's the ongoing discussion by accord freaks (will a 3L nsx v6 engine work in an accord with a 3L v6) they forget all the tranny and rwd/fwd aspects. sound possible but very pricey...

anyway what year and trim model is this accord?

I'm not sure on the trim level, I haven't gotten a really close look at it. It's a late-'80s model, I think. It's one of the ones that had hideaway headlights. White with blue interior.

Can't go wrong with a running car for $1200, I say.
