*shrugs shoulders*

I don't hate it, but I don't consider it "nicely-styled" either... it definitely looks more truck-like than most recent car-based midsize SUVs...

It could stand to be a Bathfinder.

To me, it's just more generic soccer mom bus than anything it ever used to be. But that's what the market's become. A bunch of poseurs who hate minivan and station wagon stigma and want to sit up high and I guess be able to kill the occasional Metro-driving hypermiler without feeling too much of a bump.

#2, Well... yeah, anyone who chooses a car-based SUV over an equally-sized minivan is making a decision based solely on what others think.

Minivans are still more efficient, roomier, many times ride better, are more efficient... and usually about 5-10 grand cheaper.

#3, not always; fully loaded Odysseys and Siennas push $50k, and in the snowbelt, minivans do worse than crossovers. I would argue that efficient doesn't neccessarily mean gas mileage. Efficiency to me means--is it the right vehicle for you? Like, if you have 2 kids and do occasional Costco runs, then no--you need a small wagon. Some families need crossovers because dad wants a truck and mom wants a "hatchback"--therefore crossover is the median. Anyway.
