#1, indeed. I was like.. "what the fuck?" and sure enough, it looks like one that used to roam Lawrence when I was in high school.

#1, It's because the owner can't let go. He's still hanging onto that fading memory of life in 2005 - and it's where his only point of reference in life will be. He'll think 2005 was only 10 years ago - but in fact 23 years has elapsed.

But 2005 was a good for him - and was a good year for ricers. He remembers when that subdivision was just a bunch of paved roads - and his future mod list that got lost when he moved out that had some "real sik shit" on it.

A change of location. A change of girlfriends. A change of attitude as he almost convinced himself that he NEEDED lifted 2008 Ram 1500 extended cab as DD for his job at Home Depot.

9 years on - and he's trying to fight off the grim fact that someday he'll have to euthanize his dream and grow up. Paul Walker has yet to be canonized - and few people care what cars that Sunfire beat in whatever poorly and hastily arranged roll race he had on the interstate.

Maybe he sold the original bumper fascias in 2005 and since the custom ones haven't fallen off yet, he sees no reason to pay money to source matching stock ones from GM or a junkyard.

#1, I think there was a genuine movement that "in progress" rice was a deliberate style choice, to cover up the fact they were so mechanically/financially inept it was never going to GET finished.

I think the best were the ones with the mismatched three-color kit pieces hanging off a stock body that had RUST HOLES in it.

It amuses me that the paint and sheetmetal are in perfect condition but the body kit looks like it's on its third owner.

It's like smallpox, every time you think you've seen the last of it, a NASTY case pops up out of nowhere because someone was stupid.
