Honestly, I really do like how the final-generation El Caminos look, with one glaring exception... that gawdawfully boring early '80s Malibu front fascia.

That front-end styling should have died in 1983 with the Malibu; can't believe they couldn't even coble together a refresh after that.

I actually prefer the Malibu fascia on the El Camino. I never liked the SS front end cribbed from the Monte Carlo.

The four-light front wasn't bad, necessarily, it was just such a step down from the 1978-1981 front. I consider the 1981 grille to be the best-looking.
