IMDB says "If you like this title, we also recommend: Terminator 2".

I will not comment on this.

Oh, and what about the drag between a Jetta and an S2000? It's actually almost close?! Give me a break, please.

Terminator 2 had Arnold killing things. Fast and the Furious had Vin Diesel using the word NOS. I think this is a very fundamental distinction.

Don't forget Robert Patrick. He has big ears. Vinnie doesn't.

I saw the Bourne Identity today, btw. It had a car chase featuring an old mini. That makes it cool. Plus it was generally pretty cool.

Even better, see this; not all of these critiques are correct, but a good many of them are spot-on:

I'm quoteing this. "After Brian, Dom, Eddie and the Asian guy race down the street Dom starts making fun of Brian. Dom says "Granny-Clutching, not double-clutching like you should" (and everyone laughs). Double clutching hasn't been around for years, it was primarly used by truckers that didn't have good syncros on their transmissions. Granny clutching is actually faster than double-clutching, so it's a good thing that Brian was granny-clutching.".

. the assholes who write screenplays these days!.

That's more or less typical of the stuff you see in the movie.

Whoever wrote that didn't really know what they're talking about. Double clutching is still around, and it has nothing to do with bad syncros. Actually, you have to have good syncros to do it. It's used by long-haul truckers when shifting going up or down hills, because the powerband on a bigass diesel like that has a powerband that is only about 200 or 300 rpm wide. (not 2 thousand, 2 HUNDRED!) So you do it for the sake of the engine RPMS. Nothing to do with the syncros.

Oh, and somebody else on that site says it's impossible to do a wheelstand and spin the tires. Bullshit. Top fuel cars do it all the time.

CRXtrackguy, I KNEW you were going to say that next. I was just waiting.

I'm not skilled enough with a manual trans. to even bother trying anything weird like double-clutching/powershifting. I just can't do it fast enough yet.

Edit: In reference to earlier comment about clutching/double clutching.

I'm willing to assume that you know more about manual transmission cars than I do, both because of overall amount of experience with automobiles, and the fact that, not a year ago, I had trouble getting my car away from stoplights well enough to keep up with traffic...

Actually, I didn't know jack shit about double clutching until I asked my cousin who's a trucker, and he gave me the lowdown.
