I assume he was chasing you. Were you also in a Burnside?

#1, I created a pickup slow enough for the stock Burnside police cars to catch it... 4WD extended cab duallie... with the I6 :P

...and the truck was set to "flee" AI... I'm weird in that I just enjoy watching AI police chases.

The oldfullsize mod, with the expansion (available only in the forums, because it pretty much contains detail-perfect recreations of the Olds 88 and Regency) is one of my favorite mods now. It has so many damn options, and it drives pretty well. I even like the beater and junkyard versions.

I like the crash test versions best, honestly. I like doing offset crashes at the derby track :)

...another silly thing to do, in the simple grid map, is set a car to going straight, then, when it's going fast, turn the wheel hard over, and hold it while I tab over to another car (that way, the inputs remain on permanently) so it's going in one giant circle... then having a whole gaggle of police cars chase it while it's in a circle... seeing if I can get them going in resonance, or like an orbit... ever so often one or two police cars get out of shape, and start cutting "through" the circle... sometimes slamming into other police cars...

I needed something to zone out to while listening to a podcast. As long as I've been playing around with BeamNG, this is the first time I ever pitted the AI against itself in a chase. After an hour (!) of the LeGran S V6 chasing the Burnside 3-speed on the flat grid, with plenty of spin-outs and even an unexpected demolition derby of sorts, this is what I ended up with:

http://smg.photobucket.com/user/ski...ouqg3x.jpg.html

Both cars, nose to nose, tires spinning. Even though the LeGran already had a ruptured radiator from ramming into the back of the Burnside repeatedly, both cars overheated at the same time, and the Burnside's engine went first.

On a completely unrelated note: I love ramming cars through the camper trailer. Especially parking it hitched to a suitably heavy vehicle, putting a small ramp next to it, and then jumping the Barstow through it, Roop and Charlie style.

Holy fucking hell... https://www.beamng.com/resources/ibishu-condensa.1682/ Get this thing (In "preposterous mode") going up to speed, then Shift+Q to turn on realistic shifting, and the sky's the fucking limit. I hit 298mph before I could no longer keep it going straight.

I'm now officially a convert to the Olds fullsize mods. So many options.

I've also been enjoying the 1975 Ford LTD from the forums, despite a couple of minor flaws (the most glaring being the brake and taillights glowing orange). It makes for an interesting car chase counterpart to any of the Oldsmobiles.

I have the Ibishu Impreza-doppelganger police car chasing an old, dirty, but overpowered van in Utah... the van turns onto a dirt path... my reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlC9H53LTNE

Trying out the Strato ( https://beamng.com/resources/strato...ic-aircraft.39/ ) ...really hard to operate with a keyboard, but I manage...

I set a bunch of AI cars to "random" in Utah, then flew around, and if I spotted one, I'd try to buzz it.

Ok, so, apparently, BeamNG, when it detects a computer has "Intel onboard graphics" (part of many Intel CPUs), it defaults to that, even if the computer has a dedicated graphics card.

So, all this time, I've been running it through sheer brute force of my i7 and 32gb of RAM, when I've had a GTX960M just sitting there, doing nothing. No wonder I thought the game ran like crap (was running it windowed at a lower res with low graphics settings)...

I had to go through my NVIDIA control panel to manually FORCE BeamNG to use the graphics card. Now I can run full-screen 1080p with max graphics settings... and it's GORGEOUS. Holy crap have I been missing out. I can actually run the forested maps without slowdown, now!
