I assume he was chasing you. Were you also in a Burnside? |

I like the crash test versions best, honestly. I like doing offset crashes at the derby track :) |

I needed something to zone out to while listening to a podcast. As long as I've been playing around with BeamNG, this is the first time I ever pitted the AI against itself in a chase. After an hour (!) of the LeGran S V6 chasing the Burnside 3-speed on the flat grid, with plenty of spin-outs and even an unexpected demolition derby of sorts, this is what I ended up with:

Both cars, nose to nose, tires spinning. Even though the LeGran already had a ruptured radiator from ramming into the back of the Burnside repeatedly, both cars overheated at the same time, and the Burnside's engine went first.
On a completely unrelated note: I love ramming cars through the camper trailer. Especially parking it hitched to a suitably heavy vehicle, putting a small ramp next to it, and then jumping the Barstow through it, Roop and Charlie style. |

I'm now officially a convert to the Olds fullsize mods. So many options.

I've also been enjoying the 1975 Ford LTD from the forums, despite a couple of minor flaws (the most glaring being the brake and taillights glowing orange). It makes for an interesting car chase counterpart to any of the Oldsmobiles. |

Ok, so, apparently, BeamNG, when it detects a computer has "Intel onboard graphics" (part of many Intel CPUs), it defaults to that, even if the computer has a dedicated graphics card.
So, all this time, I've been running it through sheer brute force of my i7 and 32gb of RAM, when I've had a GTX960M just sitting there, doing nothing. No wonder I thought the game ran like crap (was running it windowed at a lower res with low graphics settings)...
I had to go through my NVIDIA control panel to manually FORCE BeamNG to use the graphics card. Now I can run full-screen 1080p with max graphics settings... and it's GORGEOUS. Holy crap have I been missing out. I can actually run the forested maps without slowdown, now! |
