#1, ...when I had to take it in for repairs under warranty... learning those repairs would have cost me almost $8000 if the car were out of warranty... yeah, my ownership of that Fiat wasn't long for this world.

#3, ...I mean, this thing is basically a Mazda2, but a bit beefier. ...and with a more powerful engine.

...oh, and what's crazy, this thing is NOT that tall/high-riding... with the seat at its lowest level, I actually sit a fair bit lower than the Fiat... and with the dashboard/center console design, it feels like I'm actually in a sports car. It's... a bit weird. But in a good way.

The car has an optional front-plate bracket (don't know why, it's been a Florida car its entire life)... so I thought of what I could put on there... I considered another JDM plate (like the SR-20 plate I had on the Infiniti G20), but I couldn't justify a good enough reason (this car doesn't exactly have interesting chassis or engine codes...)

...then browsing online, I found this, and quite like it, aesthetically: http://photo.ricecop.com/pics/cx3plate.jpg

But that's quite nice, really.

I'm content to stay with the Jigen license plate, as I'm a weeaboo... but if anyone else has any good ideas, I'm all ears.

I honestly can't think of anything witty for this car.

So... buying a used Mazda from a Kia dealership... I was not expecting their customer service to be so good... but, after buying the car, I noticed two cosmetic defects. They're repairing both, one for free and one for a minimal amount of money... I didn't even buy a Kia, let alone a new one from them, but they still gave me a loaner for a couple days... a 2019 Sorento. It's not new (has 8000 miles on it), but I'm still shocked.

They told me they'd let me use a loaner, so I was expecting something worse from their used lot, or maybe even a base model Rio or something. The Sorento appears to be a base model, but is surprisingly nice, but too big for my tastes. ...throttle response is a bit sluggish, and its interior, whilst nicely laid out, doesn't quite match my CX-3 in terms of materials.

Suffice to say, I'm impressed with this dealer. I visited them 12 years and two owners ago... and they were the epitome of a scummy, white trash "cheap new car" dealer at the time. Very happy to see them running a very professional, customer-oriented dealership now.

#12, Man, seems like you got lucky. We got our Telluride from Lupient Kia, which for the most part has been very good, but I keep seeing horror stories of Kia dealers being fucks.

Lawrence Kia is one such store.

#13, The "old" version of that Kia dealership... visited them when I was looking for a used car (when I eventually wound up with the beige Sentra)… the guy showed me a one-year-old Kia Rio, and claimed it got 50mpg because it was a "hybrid", but they couldn't legally call it that "because Toyota owned the rights to call cars hybrids"... the moment I heard that verbal fecal matter, I knew I had to be off of that lot five minutes ago.

[edit] Oh, forgot to mention, the salesman was missing most of his teeth... and I don't think he was any older than me.

Two years with the car, and I can unequivocally state... the infotainment system SUUUUUUUUUCKS.

Takes forever to boot-up, tons of input lag, becomes unresponsive ever so often, and it keeps "forgetting" the last mp3/folder it played off of my phone. Keeps defaulting to my fucking camera folder and plays audio from whatever smartphone-video I most recently took.

The only saving grace is it's the last year that still had a CD player. That, and terrestrial radio, is the only way to reliably play music on that fucking thing. How could Mazda fuck up infotainment so badly? They do everything else in the interior wonderfully.

Oh, and the passenger seat weight-sensor for the airbag is wayyyyyyy too fucking sensitive. No joke, if I put my smartphone on the seat, the seatbelt light and "airbag deactivated" lights/chimes go nuts. I finally just plugged in a seat-belt extender to shut it up.

#16, Have noticed that the infotainment screen is actually having its bottom corners wear, badly. Like the screen is getting delaminated due to the heat or something.

Another problem, that I've noticed since first getting the car but never mentioned, the digital readout portions of the gauge cluster are almost impossible to read in bright sunlight. Mazda did not provide for bright enough LEDs. It gets really fucking annoying sometimes.

Also, the engine is starting to idle weird. I've got less than a year left on the financing, but I've got half a mind to just pay it all off now and start looking around for something else. The Hyundai Kona N, despite its horrendous styling, has garnered my attention. Much like my past three cars, I'd have to get it in black to mitigate its unfortunate aesthetics.

#17, I hope you like hard shifts and turbo lag. I mean, I don't know if the N will suffer from that, but having put nearly 45k on a 1.6T DCT Kona Ultimate, I will say the turbo lag is noticeable moreso in hotter weather. It likes fall and early winter the best, and it gets its best gas mileage then, too. I will also say that its hard to get EPA ratings for gas mileage, at least with the 1.6T. I think my average is something like 23-25 mixed and about 27 on the highway. Not quite EPA ratings. In the city, in stop and go traffic, mileage really suffers. My city mileage is probably closer to 24-25. I will say, even the non-N is quite quick and fairly nimble on its feet, and from a roll, it will surprise a number of sportier compacts, even from this current era.

#18, Thanks for the info. Helps to get a "cold shower", so to speak, when getting excited about an upcoming car.
