I actually got really scientific about testing with the Capri back in the day, we did about ten full-on passes, five without hood, five with hood, to see if the weight loss helped more than the loss of aerodynamics. It didn't. I think me and a few mates ran about 80-90 passes total over a couple of weekends, trying to "tune" the launch and shift points and so forth. (Prepping for 5.0s vs the World)

#11, Guess the ideal situation is the fiberglass or CF replacement hood, lose weight, but not aero

#12, Regrettably, no-one was making CF cowl hoods for capris back then. I doubt they do now, for that matter. CF apparently hasn't caught on with much of the domestic crowd. They didn't even make decent fiberglas ones, I ended up custom-grafting a 3" cowl to the stock hood.

If I could get em, I'd get a full replacement set of body panels in CF. It's absolutely wonderful stuff.
