Well, the Marauder is coming soon (I can hear Mad Max cheering now), So hope isn't Completely lost for "true" American muscle cars.

its got about 300 horses, with a tweaked cobra engine, but will it still come out if ford stopped the production of mercury????

Mercury has at least another 8 years to go till Ford can consider shutting it down. Because work is on the way to have the next Sable NOT be a Taurus, but to be the next generation Ford Mondeo (Contour to all us Yanks), so as long as the Sable is around, Mercury will be around. I think Ford is trying to make Mercury it's European/Performance division, as a last ditch effort to keep Mercuy alive. Not a bad plan in my opinion.

It's like, Ford is trying to do with Mercury what they tried to do with Merkur, selling European Fords in the American market. But I think it will succeed this time because it's a well-known brand name, and European Fords of today are a Helluva lot better looking than those of 10 years ago. And if Ford starts making high-performance Mercurys (like the Marauder), I see a great future for Mercury. What I'd really like to see is a new Capri based on the next-generation Mustang, but with more upclass styling than the Mustang.

Yep, I'm waiting with bated breath for the Marauder. Too bad the Blue Oval Brigade waited until 7 years after the Impala was gone to come up with their Impala fighter. Ah well. And yes, I think that survival plan for Mercury sounds like a winner. Euro Fords are pretty good these days, but I'd rather see them badge some Australian Fords (RWD V8s) as Mercurys and sell them in the States. And screw the Capri, I'm hoping Mercury goes back to the good ol' days, gets a restyled version of the new Mustang and badges it as a Cougar. Let's give that name back the glory it once deserved and erase the memory of that FWD "New Edge" monstrosity.

This car has nice interior, and the wheels aren't bad (though they should be smaller).

I wish this had done to a 2000 or newer Impala, and not to a car that actually is nice. If it had been done to a 2000 or newer one, it would be a Pimpala Wimpala.
