This reminds me of the car that kicked my car's ass at the Pinewood Derby in like 1987, there I was with my hand built car, even had a little lego man in the front seat, thinking I was gonna win, and then the kid who had the Engineer for a father shows up with somthing like this, even had like sponsors on the side, General Dynamics, Raytheon, etc... and kicked your ass, One of these days I'm gonna find that kid... and he'll pay.... |

Pinewood Derby kicks butt! I know the kids are supposed to do the cars themselves, but my dad "helped" me when I was just a sprout and I "helped" my son. I did a beautiful car that was sort of like the Mach 5 -- it had extensions at the front which conveniently also gave it a little head start as well... :)
I polished those nails 'til they looked like chrome and made sure the holes in the wheels were perfectly smooth. I even used graphite lubricant to eliminate friction. We ended up finishing second out of about 50 cars.
Then when it was all over, the kids had fun smashing the cars into the walls. Believe me, I wasn't the only dad wincing when that happened... |

#6, I knew it! I knew that car that beat mine was a bit too nice looking to have been built by a 10 year old! |

#10, I had an awesome scoutsmaster, Clyde Berg, awesome ability to lead and instill discipline without having to raise his voice, may he rest in peace. |
