#40, Actually, I came out of a nasty slide in that FWD car I'm talking about (the Cavalier, of course) once.

Swerved to miss some wildlife that was lounging in the middle of the road, went into a fishtail...how bad a fishtail? At one point, looking straight out the windshield, I saw the side of the road...

I just kept my foot planted on the gas, and tried not to over-correct, and after about six or seven screeching swerves, I got the car going straight again...the adrenaline rush was amazing...my whole entire face was tingling, and my teeth were actually so clenched I COULD NOT OPEN THEM.

#44, At that point in driving, I had only had my licence for less than a year. (I didn't get my licence until halfway through my senior year in high school, not because I wasn't allowed to, I just never had the "WANT" to drive immediately...I think it made me a better driver.)

#40, the handbrake is the only fun way to drive a fwd car in the snow... if you have a handbrake... the buick has the old 'push with the foot pedal' brake...

Man, I will bang her ever so slowly in the mud. With her parshed lips slightly open, breathing hard as she gazes upward, grasping my arms as she says go faster...................I'll be right back.

#45, There's no real shame in that. I didn't get my license until I was 18 and out of high school, for the same reason you gave. My learner's permit practice involved driving my parents on a 2600-mile road trip to Montana and back.

I've ridden in cars in snow a number of times (seeing as I always seem to visit RRB in winter and half my family is in Ohio). The closest I've come to -driving- in snow, though, was driving Driven_out's GMC Sonoma last year. But I didn't actually drive it on snow, it was a clear road with snow on either side. /lose
