A scene from my favorite movie of all time. A great suspense film. Anyone know the
title?

Yeah, those are nit-picks, it's not a bad movie

It's a bit like Mad Max's gearshifts/hard turns while the tach was set dead at 0 rpm... it's just something you have to ignore...

The Valiant had a slant six. The sound was unmistakable. A stock slant six might acheive 100 mph but only on flat ground with no wind or a tail wind. If it wasn't overheated it would do great on the hills as they had lots of torque. Acceleration above 80 mph would be practically non existant. Cool movie though. Scary as hell. I'll bet David Mann was wishing he opted for the 318!

I have had my 1973 Duster up to 95 MPH before... it would pull up to around 85 mph and after that it took a coupe of miles to get those extra 10 MPH

Yeah a slant six will pull 100 mph eventually. A friend of mine had one in a '75 Dart. We later dropped in a '72 340. That woke it up! 4 door, snot green. Great sleeper. That car was FUN! The Mustang and Camaro guys didn't know what hit them!

I was thinking of getting a slightly hot cam, some forged pistons, boring it about .030 over gettting a 4bbl intake for it and building a junk yard Turbo system for the Slant Six! that would be evil if I could get about 250HP out of it

And a shit load of torque! It would be an intersting experiment. I built up a 292 Chevy inline 6 once. It had a Crane cam, Offy 4 bll intake w/ a Quadrajet and headers. The thing went like stink and made fools of a few V8 owners. I say you should go for it. Just make SURE you put a forged steel crank in it. That long crank in the slant six is only supported by 5 mains as opposed to Chevy's 7.

yeah I got the idea when I saw a web site about t guy that did a Turbo Slant six. But this guys Slant Six had 225,000 miles on it! and he ran 16s with Zero mods other than the Turbo! the way he did it made me think I could do the samething only better! he took a turbo flag off a 2.2 Turbo cut it and the stock flag on his slant six and weilded the turbo flag in the stock one's place. If he'd have had it extruding honed and Powder coated he would have had something there!

Cool idea! It would make a great rice killer! They sound cool too! They are all done at 5000 rpm but they generate so much torque that the low rev limit is not as issue.
Do it!

Ah yes, the ever present cash issue. It still would be cheaper than what those boneheads spend on thier Civics and faster too.

I may be on the verge of securing a job that would pretty much guarantee a very well done Turbo Slant Six! I hope I get it I need that money!

Small world, CudaMan - I wound up buying the exact same turbo setup you mentioned. It's about halfway installed on my car now. I'm trying to improve it by adding an intercooler and a better fuel pump. It'll be interesting to see what that runs, but I think with a cam and head work it could get up to 300 hp and 400 lb-ft.
