#47, I know, I hate the moniker "rice", especially as it does not refer to anything we post anymore. Maybe Troop could put an `80s spin on things and call it "Boss or Not."

#47, We see the odd ricer around here - but as was predicted back on this site back in 2002 - they've become another automotive fad in the exact same vein as 70's vans.
I don't expect to never see them ever again - some still relish the memories of the past shit decade and will hold on. The next big things - evidently donks and the ricers that have 'graduated' onto drifting - will rise and fall as well.
If anything - I'd say that rice has pretty much become like the KKK - Millions strong years ago - and today all but a handful of actual members - former members - sympathizers - and an overwelming number of people who grew up and got real.
I'd say we've won.

I think it works better as a car based site, but I do like it when member post pictures of all different kinds of cars. :)

There are some elements of the phenomena that till exist in current day car culture, but by and large, the "rice" movement is dead. Sadly though, I don't think a name change here would do any good; it certainly has done no favors for the forum. We shall soldier on, a relic of days gone by; a beacon of simpler times, times when cars could be classified as rice or kraut due to there tasteless modifications even if we ourselves no longer do so. We shall continue to post esoteric cars, chat on free posts which disappear every night making some conversations confusing, and posting our pedantic rants about license plate bolts on a `89 Pontiac Grand Am SE. Soldier on, band-mates. Soldier on.

I still feel bad for neglecting to contact/reply to you after we got to FL. :( Hopefully maybe someday it could happen. Winter '10 perhaps?
