#20, As money allows, it will start to sound better and better. ;-)
I'm not expecting miracles, and I know the V8s will go further. Still, the 3.8L has potential--the heads flow very well on intake but rather poorly on exhaust. Deal with that issue (lots of porting, larger exhaust valves, etc.) and you're halfway there--comparable flow to some aftermarket 5.0 heads if it's done right. Then, it simply becomes an issue of getting the valvetrain to keep up--better valvesprings and a higher-lift cam with longer duration (especially on exhaust, which would remain the weak point), and it would be pretty interesting. :-) |

#21, My real problem right now is affording this crap. I think I may have to save my money for a little while. |

#22, Intake, as in "cold air", or intake as in "manifold"? As for the first, I'm not too keen on them, and I don't think it would be too difficult to rig up something comparable for half the price. As far as the manifolds go, those would also need porting, too..
Headers, maybe later--the factory manifolds are crap, but I haven't decided whether I want shorties, or if I want to wait and do longtubes and an emissions delete. |

#26, The 4.2L F150 actually has the same engine I do, by the way. The block, heads, and lower intake manifolds are all the same or at least very similar; the differences are mostly in the rotating assembly and pistons (also the upper intake).

#28, Yeah, it's possible to do something very similar to the car. The only downside is that, with the position of that filter, he's going to need a heat shield or it's going to do him more harm than good. |

#29, Actually, as far as I am aware, the only vendor I know of that makes LTs of any note would be MAC. JBA makes some nice shorties for the car, if it was to be kept emissions-legal (longtubes are long enough that I'd have to kiss all of the cats good-bye). |

But it's one thing at a time. I'm still trying to decide whether I should locate a set of used heads and try to find a local machine shop to do the work I want, or if I would be better off just saving up a lot of money and having one of the major V6 groups ( www.rpm-mustangs.com www.moranav6racing.com or www.supersixmotorsports.com ) do a set for me.
I'm also contemplating gears, and I may be able to get a good deal on a set of 3.45s and a traction-lok diff. (My car has 2.73s, open.) |

#37, It's not bad; the recording introduced a lot of distortion, and I am too cheap to buy a decent tape recorder for the sake of making a recording every two months. |
