Good price. Assuming it's been maintained well, 185k ain't too shabby. |

#5, My guess is it gave up the ghost or will eventually, anyone who buys a car for this price with that amount of mileage would probably not take very good care of it. |

#6, Sub-$1000 cars are almost always abused. The guy who bought my Volvo resold it for $900 to some retarded guy, and I've seen it slowly destroyed.
Its condition today is painted bright metallic blue (trim, bumpers, everything) with flat black painted wheels and interior (yes, the guy spray-painted the damn interior), a broken taillight, missing gas door, crumpled front (from underneath, like he ran into a ditch), and a gigantic "KICKER" windshield banner, with smaller "APC" decals on each side of the rear windshield. Last time I saw it, it was driving down the highway at about 30 mph with a mattress and box springs tied to the roof. |

#8, Ugh, that's a damn shame to sell a car you're attatched to to some ass-monkey. APC stickers? This guys sounds like a real tool. |

#9, He is. He talked about buying the car from me before I sold it to the other guy, but he couldn't afford my $1200 asking price. The only thing he cared about was radio.
Me: It's about 122,000 miles, but only about 100,000 on the engine, needs an A/C compressor....
Him: Huh. What about the steeriyo?
Me: Um, Pioneer AM/FM cassette. Had Hooper's install it about three years ago. Speakers are Alpine and Boston Acoustics.
Him: Them Boston, whatever they are, them's good speakers. So you'll sell me the car with the steeriyo?
Me: Well, yeah, the radio comes with it....
Him: Good, 'cause I want that steeriyo.
I mean, I know the guy is retarded, but still..... |

#11, Yep. The shop owner next to me was the one who ended up buying it, apparently thinking it was a good deal and he could resell it. Funny he ended up losing money, though. |

#12, I guess you just can't avoid morons these days. When (if) I end up selling my Chrysler I probably won't care who buys it as long as he can match my asking price, chances are no-one like your buddy would be interested in it because it doesn't have a sound system to speak of. But you know what I mean, I like that car, but I'm not too attatched to it. My truck on the other hand I'll make sure goes to somebody who knows what he/she (Oh, who am I kidding? He) is doing and who'll take care of it. I've spent too much time and effort in that thing to have it sit in some redneck dude's back yard for 20 years.
#13, Haha, my friend must be retarded then, all he listens to is The Fox which broadcasts nothing but "new school" country. But at least they play Hank Jr. and Johnny Cash from time to time.

#12, That retardate, by the way, has owned the following vehicles prior to the Volvo (in this order since I've met him):
*Black Chevy Lumina "Eurosport" four door. Awful, flaking paint, no wheelcovers, full of decals, no exhaust (yeah, it was LOUD), and usually full of bootlegged DVDs and CDs that he makes his money selling. Sold it because the top-end needed rebuilding.
*Maroon Plymouth Acclaim. Never looked that bad apart from a lousy paintjob. Don't know what happened to that one, I only saw him in it twice.
*Yellow Chevy Classic Malibu 4 door. Painted yellow with a roller, with orange flames spray-painted on. Had blue interior and Sear's AutoCenter 10-hole wheels. Blew the engine and sold it.
*Blue Buick Park Avenue. Harvested from the shop owner's junkyard, rebuilt from spare parts (including the factory wheels from my truck). Last about three months, then ended up back in the yard, where I photographed it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0...mpsoldBuick.jpg |

#13, Yeah, he's "special." I think he's a Limp Bizkit fan, for the record, that's usually the music (or at least the type of music) I hear coming from his vehicles. |

#16, Hell, that thing was already junked when he got it. I don't know how it ended up back there (probably blew the engine, since it isn't wrecked), but it looks like Tim (shop owner) pulled the rearend to use in something else. |

#19, Oh, I didn't think the condition was so bad from the photo. But I'd still rather see it crushed and eventually used as scrap to be mixed with pig iron, cooked at 2800*F and made back into steel. |
