#120, I don't refute the 1st ammendment, mcmunkee, especially considering that's part of the basis of my argument. Either you're busting out the straw-man on me, or one of us hasn't sufficiently made our point clear.

And I cut and paste the sentence I'm replying to, but I do not cut and paste sections of articles and try to pass them off as my own arguments, as you do.

"It DOESN'T interfere with the free practice of religion."

Some of the current, mostly liberal, politians are pretty much trying to abolish religion. In my hometown this week, there's a park where a monument containing the 10 Commandments is being removed because ONE SINGLE person said they were offended, and misinterpretted the Seperation of Church and State clause. There are petitions from most of the residents of the area to overturn it.

Then we have the moronic judges in Massachusetts who think their personal preferences are above the federal law.

#121, So if I agree with it, but have an article that says what I believe, it's invalid because you think it's unfair that I didn't type it out?

That really makes sense. You spend more time debating someone's debate tactics than actual ideas.

#122, So by removing a government endorsement of religion, they're interfering with your right to practice that religion?

It seems like every Christian in this country is hell-bent on taking over the government and getting as many converts as possible, and when someone tries to stop them, they cry that their "freedom of religion" is being infringed. No one is infringing your free exercise of religion, as long as you don't try to force it on anyone else, especially when you're using the government to do your forcing.

#123, How about link me to it? Or maybe tell me where you got the argument, instead of trying to pass it off as your own?

You spend more time debating someone's debate tactics than actual ideas.

You might want to read post #118 again. I used all of one line to talk about your "debate tactic", and the rest of the post was refuting "your" ideas.

#124, Your thinking and perception is COMPLETELY backwards. It's not Christians trying to "take over" the government, it's people who claim they are so offended by seeing anything religious in a public place or school or anywhere. There are organizations of people who don't spend any time working at a real job who look around for mentions of God to eliminate by stupid lawsuits. Hardly any Christians care about "taking over the government" or want to force anyone to do anything, they simply want to practice their religion without being persecuted and sued by people who have nothing better to do.

#126, It's not Christians trying to "take over" the government

Yes it is. Why else would they insist on using government-funded areas (schools, courthouses) to try and spread their religion? No one has told you can't be religious. No one would stop you from praying to yourself in a restaurant before you eat. You just can't force it on anyone else, or get help from our governing body to do so.

Hardly any Christians care about "taking over the government" or want to force anyone to do anything

Then why do they get so defensive when the government stops endorsing them? Look at the uproar by religious people over the whole 10 commandments issue....the only reason they got uptight about it was because they thought their religion obligated them to try and convert the world; thinking selfishly instead of thinking about the good of everyone.

Persecuted? Name one Christian in this country who has been threatened, killed, or lost any of his rights over his religion. That's persecution. And when has anyone other than representatives of state or national government been sued? Once again, they create a sort of false dilemma...either I can set up a theocracy or you're infringing my freedom of religion.

Did you have your bike stolen near a church as a child? Honestly, you seem so hateful and dead-set against Christians. I could keep responding to your completely ridiculous claims, but it's a waste of time. You've made up your mind and you're a lost cause. This country is going down the toilet when the values that founded this country are being eliminated because a few people (far from a majority) are "offended".

And don't add this to your "Skid:Master-debator" talley of "wins". I'm not quitting, you are just hopeless and a huge waste of time.

#129, Exactly. There's a cult of aethiests in Georgia who have a goal of eliminating religion at all costs, including murder, use of poisonous snakes, whatever it takes to kill people for simply going to church. Oh, and their inspirational figure is John Lennon. Stupid hippies.

You're going to end up getting shot someday Skid. You're so close-minded and hateful that if you act like you do on the internet in the real world...you're going to send someone over the edge.

#130, Did you have your bike stolen near a church as a child?

Everything but. I've been through too much shit around here to think that theocracy is anything but a bad thing.

Honestly, you seem so hateful and dead-set against Christians.

Great, now you pull an Obsidian on me. I don't hate Christians, I hate the nutty subversive fundamentalists. Why can't some of you people grasp that it's not the religion that guys like me find offensive, but rather the coercion of it?

This country is going down the toilet when the values that founded this country

I swear, you're like a fucking wall. I can say "prove this country is founded on Christianity" and you just gloss over it and keep talking about "The Christian values" of this country and how awful everything is because of those darned evil godless multiculturalists. Why, just the other day I turned on my TV and saw a BLACK MAN on it! Can you believe that?

Definately not.

Skid thinks Christians are trying to rule every aspect of his life, so he wants to eliminate them. Basically.

And don't add this to your "Skid:Master-debator" talley of "wins".

Where the hell did this come from? Why is it I can't get into a discussion with anyone on here without someone bringing up my riceboy debates? Is this some macho thing for you? Are you only debating with me because you think you have something to prove? That "master debater" bullshit has nothing to do with this.

I'm not quitting, you are just hopeless and a huge waste of time.

Nice excuse to duck out. The reason I don't accept what you say is because you can't back your claims whatsoever. You don't even exhibit sound logic.

You're going to end up getting shot someday Skid

I don't doubt it. I've gotten the threats before. And I'll bet you'd applaud the guy who does it, wouldn't you? In fact, why don't you volunteer?

You're so close-minded and hateful

Closed-minded because I don't blindly accept your arguments, hateful because it's an issue I'm passionate about. Right?

#136, Mcmunkee thinks I want to eliminate Christianity because I fear the concept of an American theocracy. The whole "he wants to eliminate Christians" thing is another attempt by mcmunkee to start of false dilemma, because he apparently suffers from "head in ass" syndrome.

Watch...Obsidian will probably come on here now and say "See, I told you Skid was anti-Christian". Because obviously you can't question the motives of the zealots without hating an entire religion.
