#140, (MxCx)
[skid :P]Because obviously you can't question the motives of the zealots without hating an entire religion.
Then complain about the zealots, not how Christianity istelf is threatening your way of life. |

I don't know why mcmunkee insists on these little flame wars, I'm not even going to ask how a thread with a handa jazz turned into the massive mess it appears to be. Seriously mcmunkee, you aren't good at "debating" at all |

#143, The zealots are what I'm complaining about, and I never said Christianity is threatening my way of life. Did you read any of my posts, or mcmunkee's bullshit summary of them? |

#143, Then why does it seem to be a necessary characteristic of Christianity that it must insinuate itself into everybody else's way of life, even into functions it need not? |

#147, Sorry for any misunderstanding, I often use the word "Christian" in the place of "fundamentalist", because around here most every Chrisitian is a Southern Baptist and therefore a "fundie". I don't judge the whole religion based on these people, but I sometimes misuse the word "Christian" because I'm so used to discussing this with local people who think that all Christians are fundamentalists and don't know what the hell of a fundamentlist is. |

I honestly don't like when this happens, because I always get so pissed whenever I'm arguing against someone who won't consider an alternative point of view, and I in turn get so worked up over the issue and come off as sounding somewhat fanatical. It never solves anything, and only serves to piss me and the other party off and just annoy everyone else.
I suppose the best course of action from here on out would be for me and mcmunkee to just ignore each other. |

#89, Imagine a world where you weren't white, Christian, Hetero and male, things would be quite different for you. Imagine living a lie in total fear, because all you want to do is live life the way you feel you should inside yourself. I think everything would be a hell of a lot better in this world if we could all just accept that we aren't all the same. And as far as your MTV comment, I boycotted them years ago, as I did most commercial radio stations. I'll form my own opinions about music. |

#157, Also people send threats to one of the pasters here in our town, it's a pretty big Assembly of God church that has been having like a world wide revival for years. He's had people charge him while he was preaching in the church. |

#157, I didn't phrase my comment correctly: We were talking about persecution by society. What I really meant was find a place in the U.S. where Christians are persecuted by the majority specifically over their religion. |
