I should've actually gone and taken pictures. I even knew exactly where it was, but my camera was out of batteries and I didn't feel like going in.
Also, sponsored by the Asian Student Association. Nothing like creating a positive image by participating in highly stereotyped behavior. |

#2, No, not really. It's just that I find it amusing when organized groups fail to escape their own stereotypes.
And, for the record, I find that anything that is an organization for ____s is unnecessarily discriminatory, if the ____ in question refers to something beyond the person's free will or control. In other words, I am against Asian Student Associations, Black Student Associations, and White Student Associations (not that we've ever seen such a thing that I am aware of) on principle. In my view, they are all racist.
ed: And, while I'm at it, I also dislike the hyphenated American. You have no more right to call yourself an African-American, Asian-American, or Hispanic American than I do to call myself a European-American; they're all unnecessarily stupid.

My mother lost her sense of smell (well, actually, badly impaired it by "burning" most of the skin on the inside of her nose) by sniffing concentrated ammonia. She had a vial of some stuff (she was a chem. major and also spent some time in the industry, so to speak) and she was trying to identify it. Unfortunately, she took a nice big whiff rather than wafting it towards her nose. Whoops. |

#3, as i recall - if you were born in a country - you can call yourself by the nationality (ie: born in the US = American). no hypenated bullshit whatsoever.
waitaminute -
African-American = misinterpeted contenital idenity (should read black)
Asian-American = another misinterpeted continential idenity (should read oriential)
Hispanic American = misinteped race idenity (should read latino) |

#9, No, no, no. That's just wrong. The correct answer is that you shouldn't have either. The longer college campuses and government organizations continue to allow and encourage the proliferation of "minority" groups and organizations, the longer it will take their members to become part of our mainstream culture (either as contributors or consumers). |
