#1, 'Cause it's not like Pontiac started putting rear sway bars and boxed lower control arms on the '70 GTOs or anything. |

#3, Yes. Having a V8 magically makes your suspension and steering crappy. :P |

Don't make me go looking for a weight chart. Anything short of a cast-iron big block really doesn't weigh all that much. |

Because "lead block" engines have magical qualities that adversely effect handling and make the car "only good in a straight line". |

#13, Enduro bumper? Not only there is no bumber in sight but also the front end is not likely to endure much fender benders. |

#15, "The new GTO was 7" shorter that it's '67 predecessor and had the addition of the all new Enduro Bumper. It was the First GM car to use this synthetic material ( even before Camaro) and it had the added advantage of being Impact Resistant. It was even color-matched to the car's body color. You could smack it into a shopping cart or even hit another car (up to 5 m.p.h.) without any damage. The second advantage was Styling. It allowed Pontiac Engineers to 'cut the cord' on Chrome-Only Bumpers, while creating exciting new shapes. The development of the paint that covered them was equally as significant. It was the first time paint was used that would f l e x."

The TV commerical for the '68 GTO showed a bunch of guys lined up, taking turns smacking the front with a baseball bat and leaving no damage. |

Damn! Now I see it. LOL, I thought that Enduro Bumper looks like a "normal" bumper. I have to admit, that making the whole front a bumper was something. And to make it actually work while looking "bumperlessly" was REALLY something. |
