It is surprisingly slow (high 6s 0-60) but still must sound nice doing it.

#1, Again...you're bashing the new LX platform Mopars... you're calling high 6 second 0-60 times SLOW?! That's only a second off of the '02 Trans Am's time, and this is a freaking LARGE STATION WAGON.

#1, wow.

I don't think it's slow. It's probably quicker than your Audi.

#2, Again? In my previous picture post I said I like this car, just like the Chrysler 300C! They are the same platform. And yes a high 6second 0-60 is slow. In 2005 cars with half the displacement run high 6s. Size has nothing to do with speed. If you make a loaded semi run 15second 0-60 it’s still not fast.

ricerocketboy, what do YOU drive?

#1, If it was German you'd probably be worshipping its oil drippings.

You said it's "suprisingly slow". You're surprised that a car this size would run nearly 7 seconds 0-60? All those small displacement cars that run that fast are also TINY.

And again, 0-60 in under 7 seconds is a quick vehicle no matter how you disect it.

4100lb curb and 340hp/390lb-ft and high 6 second is suprising!

If you guys want to pick on Audi look at the 2004 S4 wagon, curb 4050, ONLY 4.2liter and runs a mid 5second 0-60.

#11, yea...but the audi is all-wheel drive isn't it? that means more traction

But nevertheless, both cars play in the same league, don´t they?
0.5 Seconds do not make that much of difference.

#13, So what exactly is the complaint? Under seven seconds 0-60 is quick for any car, especially one that's over 2 tons. Do you not like that it's rear wheel drive, or do you think it should have a smaller engine? You sound like you're trying to break out some variation of the "horsepower per liter" argument, which is completely pointless. Remember displacement makes torque, and some of us like to have a lot of torque with a nice flat curve.

DA_MAISTA, high 6 and mid 5 is not a 0.5 seconds difference. Can't help you with that buddy.

And yes the Audi is of course AWD, and yes it has more traction. And it also comes with a 6 speed manual, while the Magnum is only available with a 5 speed auto.

The fact that the Magnum has long gears does not make it fast. The fact that it has skinny tires from the factory does not make it fast. The fact that it only comes in auto does not make it fast. The engine makes power, there is no doubt about that. It just wasn't made to run the benchmark that sells cars these days.

#14, Do you mean #13 (Me) or #11 (StockIsbeautiful).
I only tried to say that the S4 and Magnum R/T do not differ that much, performance-wise.

#15, And again...0-60 in under 7 seconds is quick. What's your idea of a "benchmark"? Most of the high-powered sports cars today run it in just under 5 seconds. Do you seriously think that every entry-level sporting car and sporty passenger car has to run exactly between 5 and 6 seconds 0-60, or else it's "surprisingly slow"?

Those tires don't look too skinny to me, either. Maybe not gatorbacks, but they're pretty wide.

why the hell is everyone arguing? 5.5 to 60 vs. 6.0 to 60. Who gives a fuck, really. The point is, its an american, RWD, stationwagon.
