All the modern war movies have one problem in common that I've noticed...all of them have way too many characters to keep up with or to profile in 2 hours, and they all end up seeming two-dimensional. I've noticed this in all the movies named here, and probably most of all in U-571.

Has anybody here seen "Hostile Waters"? It was a made-for-HBO movie, and I thought it was pretty decent. Has a sorta heart-wrenching ending.

Ok, I saw this movie last night. It was amazing. ESPN did such an excellent job with what little budget they had. The racecars used in the filming of the movie weren't "perfect looking" in any way, but that didn't take away from the movie. The way they edited real vintage race footage with filmed scenes was excellent, and Barry Pepper blew me away with his portrayal of Earnhardt. The ending was perfect, it brought me to tears, but not tears of sadness.

#24, They had Winston Cup footage all the way back to 1978 (Dale DID compete in a Cup race in 1975 [in a Dodge Charger nonetheless] and some others in '76-'77, but he didn't do very well in those very early races. Not shown in the movie.)

The 1978 car they show is the 96 Carolina Tractor Ford Torino he drove. Then they show his 1979-1981 Osterlund 2 Monte Carlo, then they go on to his Wrangler aerocoupe, then his Goodwrench aerocoupe, then Lumina, then '98 and 2001 Monte Carlo. They also show his K-2 1956 Ford in which he won his first race ever, at any level.

Welp, I bought the DVD of the movie today, because I love it so damn much. It also has over 5 hours of bonus material, a making of documentary, a bunch of race footage (from the '90s), and some ESPN stuff in which Dale Earnhardt made an appearance... pretty damn cool.

#26, The interviews with Dale, and then him and Jr. were awesome to see him laughing and joking around.

#27, I've only been able to skim the DVD so far (watched the end of the movie [made me cry again], and watched the two bonus features on the first disc, and watched the highlights of the '93 Hooters 500 on the second disc [with the tributes to Davey Allison and Alan Kulwicki {made me cry yet again}])

I'm not ashamed to say I can be moved to tears easily. Hell, the second time I watched the Green Mile, I was crying through the whole damn movie because I knew what was going to happen.

Me want: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=4561195503
...and it actually wasn't Earnhardt's "first" Winston cup ride...his first Cup ride was in 1975, in Ed Negre's #8 Dodge Charger...

This was actually his "5th" ride, after the Charger, the '76 #30 Army Malibu, the '76 #77 Hy-gain Malibu, and the '77 #19 Beldon Malibu.

I want this so badly http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=6989224683

But, unfortunately, "want" and "can afford" are not quite the same thing :(

I need to see Black Hawk Down again. It was just after my friend returned from his first field excercise. He fell asleep on his machine gun and the pressure caused a fracture. We watched in a PS2 with not enough sound. The beer and codiene make him sleepies so we had to leave 2/3 into it. I just finished a paper on the somalia fuck up and I'd like to see it now.
