#19, My Dad's 1969 Dodge Super Bee 440+6, that got parked in my uncles barn for about 5 years. Of course, then my Dad broke it out again, but another bizzillon miles on it and did a ground up resto, then put another 20 million miles on it.

The late 70's early 80's are full of shamefull things done with nameplates,

GM re-badging Toyotas as Novas

Camaros offered with 4 bangers, and as if that wasn't bad enough, they were the same 4 bangers the VEGAS got

The awfull Mustang II

Fortunatley, AMC goes out of buisness before it got the chance to put the AMX name on anything

#23, Uhm...beg to differ, IIRC, there was an AMC Concord-based "AMX" in the late '70s.

#23 No joke... I mean I don't remeber most of the 80's, but did any one really buy into it? "Oh look at the new Charger, wow, its gotta be the fastest sub 100hp car around, otherwise they wouldn't call it a charger."

#23, One question in that direction... somebody (I believe it was on this board) mentioned, that a corvette has always been a corvette; Fiberglass Body, two seats, a V8. But wasn´t even the C4 offered with a 6cyl. at some point?

#27, The '53-'54 Corvettes had a straight-6 that was pretty weak, but yeah, since '55, I don't think there was anything OTHER than a V8 offered in the 'Vette.

#34, It´s ok, I was almost sure that back then there was talk about a "euro-version" of the C4 with a 6cyl. engine. Apparently that was bullshit.

#24, the AMX name got passed on to a version of the Javelin, which was ok. then to the Hornet and Concord and finally died an agonizing death as a version of the Spirit.

I take it that me and Adambomb are probably the two biggest AMC fans on Rice or Not.
